The Birth of Name Game

During a summer trip to Kauai, we found ourselves drifting along the majestic Na Pali coast, mesmerized by cliffs that kissed the sky and water so clear it felt like glass. Somewhere between the sound flapping sails and the crashing waves, we overheard a young couple locked in an debate—not about the view, but baby names. Phones in hand, they scrolled furiously, tossing out suggestions only to have them shot down, frustration building with every passing minute.

Being the kind of people who can’t resist a good challenge, we figured this problem had to have been solved already—probably a hundred times over. So, like all our other half-baked ideas, we jotted it down on our ever-growing list and went back to soaking up the Hawaiian sun, convinced we’d leave the naming dilemmas behind on the island.

But a few days later, back home in New York City, things took a different turn. Fueled by a bottle of wine and a long evening of sorting through some truly questionable ideas, we did a little research. To our surprise, no one had really cracked the code on making baby naming fun—especially for couples trying to find that one name they could both agree on. So, we poured another glass, grabbed our laptops, and decided to do it ourselves. And just like that, Name Game was born—a playful fix for a problem we didn’t even have!
